What are log house beams?
Log house beams are traditionally used in many regions throughout Europe. The naturalness and charm of wood can be felt intensively inside a log house. Apart from the rustic optics, wood has many positiv effects on indoor climate since wood is quite effective at absorbing excess moisture.
The porosity of wood leads to excellent insulation properties through entrapped air within its structure. At the same time, as mentioned before, its hygroscopic properties enable it to absorb excess indoor moisture. When the indoor climate is too try, the moisture inside the wood is in turn released into the room, leading to a well regulated indoor climate all year round.
