Load bearing products according to DIN EN 14080 consisting of up to 5 five finger-jointed solid timber boards that are glued together. We use 1K-PUR adhesives, which means that glue joints are free of formaldehyde. Maximum moisture content allowed is 15 %. The strength of the individual boards lies between 45 – 85 mm.
Glued solid timber according to DIN EN 14080 consists of several boards that have been glued together to form a product. Is is also known as “Duobalken” or “Triobalken”, two terms that have descended fom an earlier product-approval. Glued solid timber is the perfect product for visual applications such as ceiling beams and applications where high dimensional stability is needed (e.g. wall struts).
The elevated level of dimensional stability comes from using several, specially oriented boards. Compared to one big solid timber cross section, thinner boards exert less forces in changing climates reducing tension and preventing the appearance or large cracks. In addition, the glue joints are also capable of distributing loads and tensions within the beams.
We produce glued solid timber according to DIN EN 14080 in spruce and pine in industrial and visual quality.
For visual applications, we use specially selected sawn timber fom Northern Europe. When producing larger cross sections for which Scandinavian wood isn’t available, we us wood from Central Europe that is carefully sorted in-house for just this special purpose. This enables us to produce products with consistend properties.
